About the role

SolStak is seeking an Accounts & Compliance Administrator to keep our finance function accurate, timely and well organised as we grow. You will work closely with leadership and operations on day-to-day bookkeeping, reconciliations, invoicing, compliance reporting and month-end processes — supporting a fast-moving consultancy delivering Defence and government ICT programmes.

What you’ll do

  • Process accounts payable and receivable, including supplier invoices, customer billing and payment follow-up
  • Perform bank and account reconciliations and maintain clean, auditable transaction records
  • Support payroll processing, superannuation and related compliance tasks
  • Assist with month-end close, BAS/IAS preparation and coordination with external accountants
  • Maintain organised digital records and document management for finance, audit and compliance readiness
  • Respond to internal finance queries and help improve processes as the business scales

What we’re looking for

  • Demonstrated accounts and bookkeeping experience in a professional services, consultancy or SME environment
  • Working knowledge of Australian GST, payroll and small-business accounting requirements
  • Proficiency with cloud accounting platforms (e.g. Xero, MYOB or equivalent)
  • Strong attention to detail, reliability and discretion with sensitive financial information
  • Clear communication and comfort working with non-finance stakeholders across the business
  • Australian citizenship
  • Minimum two years of proven experience in a relevant role
  • Own GitLab instance and home lab environment (highly desirable)
  • Existing Australian Government security clearance (highly desirable)
  • Industry certifications (highly desirable)

  • Build finance capability in a company focused on delivery, not bureaucracy
